HP PageWide Pro 577dw Driver for Windows, Mac, and Setup Guide

HP PageWide Pro 577dw, Inkjet and laser technologies are used in the HP Page Wide Pro 577dw Multifunction printer. It produces an impressive number of pages at a very low cost-per-print. It comes with a high-resolution flatbed scanner and an automatic document feeder with duplex scanning capabilities.

Design and Features

The HP PageWide Pro 577dw Multifunction Printer ($899) acts in many respects more like a laser multifunction printer (MFP) than an inkjet. Speed, excellent visual quality, and cheap operating expenses are just a few of its features.

Because the 577dw is 18.4 by 20.9 by 16 inches (HWD), it should be maintained on its own table or bench. It weighs 48.8 pounds, so moving it into place may require two persons. A 500-sheet main tray plus a 50-sheet multipurpose feeder provide a total capacity of 550 sheets of up to legal-size paper.

A 500-sheet paper tray ($199) or a 1,000-sheet paper tray with floor support ($799) can be added for a total capacity of 1,550 sheets. This printer has an auto-duplexer for printing on both sides.

Performance and Output Quality

HP PageWide Pro 577dw has a monthly duty cycle of up to 6,000 sheets and a maximum monthly duty cycle of 80,000 pages. A flatbed scanner that can scan up to legal-size paper and a 50-sheet automated document feeder (ADF) that supports single-pass, two-sided scanning is included with the 577dw.

A 4.3-inch touch screen controls the machine’s MFP operations in front of the ADF, on the left of the printer, with specific touch-sensitive buttons (marked by icons) for backspace, home, and NFC Touch-to-Print along the display’s margins. A USB Type A connector is located beneath the front panel and can be used to connect a USB thumb drive.

One of the 577dw’s advantages is its speed. It prints at a blistering 9.7 pages per minute (ppm), which is impressive for an inkjet, but not so much for the color printing speed, which is claimed at 50ppm. On the same tests, it is somewhat quicker than the HP X576dw at 9.5ppm. The Epson WF-6590, which we timed at 12.7ppm, outperforms it.

HP PageWide Pro 577dw ‘s output quality is excellent. It has above-average text, great graphics, and acceptable photographs for an inkjet printer. Black text appears a little gray, like it did with the HP M576dw, but it’s still easy to read in most of our test typefaces. Except in cases when tiny fonts are required, which isn’t always the case with text, text should suffice for any business use.
